SCHOOLS' HOCKEY
SECONDARY TOUENEY RANKIN MEMORIAL CUP STRATFORD TECHNICAL LEADS The North Island secondary schoolboys' hockey tournament for the Rankin Memorial Cup was continued at the Remuera grounds yesterday, when the third and fourth series of matches were decided. The various teams showed evidence of having settled down to better combination and team-work, and an even higher standard was revealed than in the first two rounds. The conditions were very much more pleasant than on the previous day. The weather was dull but fine, while the grounds were again fast, although inclined to be rough. Stratford Technical High School continued to play splendid hockey and secured a lead of one point in the championship ladder from Mount Albert Grammar School. Auckland Grammar School A and Wairarapa High School are equal in third place, two points behind the leader. As the two leading teams have played all their harder engagements, it is considered unlikely that there will be any material changes in their positions in the remaining matches.
