MUNICIPAL AIRPORT
MAYOR'S PLAN SUPPORTED ELLERSLIE TOWN BOARD Support for the proposal made by tho Mayor c£. Auckland, Sir Ernest Davis, for the establishment of a municipal airport at Point England was accorded last night by tho Ellerslie Town Board. Letters were received from the Auckland City Council and Ono Tree Hill Borough Council requesting the board to support tho plan. Mr. J. J. Toy said he favoured tho scheme, but the additional road trafficover the board's roads would bo a factor requiring consideration. The chairman, Mr. 11. .T. White, said he thought 90 per cent of tho airport traffic would pass over tho Waterfront Road. Mr. H. I. Simson said tho board should support the scheme provided the financial contributions it was called upon to find were within its capacity. A motion to this effect was adopted.
