NEW'YORK STATE ISOLATION OF VILLAGES PEOPLE DRIVEN FROM HOMES GREAT TRAFFIC BLOCK By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received August 29, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YOBK, August 28. A telegram from Elmira, New York, states that flood -waters from rain-swollen creeks have isolated villages over a large area and forceß hundreds of families Ifco evacuate their homes. The floods have closed highways, marooned passenger trains and disrupted power services. The village • of Montour Falls is submerged under four feet of water and marooned people are being rescued by parties in boats.
