ONE FAVOURITE WINS

LADY FAME TAKES HANDICAP KEWPIE'S' BOND SURPRISES SPRINT TO OUR McKINNEY Somo - good performances were recorded at the Auckland Trotting Club's meeting at Alexandra Park 011 Saturday, when most of the winners and placed horses went faster than handicapped to do. Crocus, who was bracketed with Sandusky, was tho only each-way favourite to score, and there wcTc several good dividends, Hori Bingen and Kewpie's Bond returning double figures 011 the straight-out machine. Tho chief event, the August Handicap, was won by Lady Fame from Kewpie's King and Our McKinnev. When produced again later Our McKinney and Kewpie's King finished first and second in the Massev Memorial Handicap, so that they performed very consistently.

The conditions for racing were excellent and there was an attendance estimated at 12,000. The totalisator handled £34,913 10s, compared with £20,019 last year, an increase of £13,991 10s. Results:—
