FRANKLIN PROFIT £351 ELECTION OF OFFICERS [fbosi OUR OWN correspondent] PUKEKOHE, Saturday Pleasure at the success of the past year was expressed by the president, ' Mr. J. Fulton, at the 52nd anmial meeting of the Franklin Agricultural and Pastoral Society, held at Pukekohe last evening. He mentioned that the entries at tlio society's annual show reached the new record total of 2852, while the attendance was estimated at 14,000. The financial result was a net profit of £351, after making provision for depreciation and doubtful subscriptions that had been outstanding through the depression. Officers elected for the ensuing year were: —President. Mr. W. J. D. Sharp; vice-presidents, Messrs. C. E. ' Walter and R. Schiaepfer; executive, Messrs. W. Collie, R. Swing, P. T. Field, C. Fulton, A. J. Harris, C. Lauer, L. C. Logan, W. C. Morris, F. J. Morrow, G. F. Mclnues, A. J. Raynes. J. Reynolds, \V. Reynolds, J. W. Robinson, N. Stuart, E. M. Wright, J. Fulton, G. Carter, W. Ballard, and S. K. Hamilton. A donation of £3 3s, to be allocated as a special prize for competition by. members of calf clubs, was received from Mr. E. I). McLennan, of Otahuhu, •who tvas recently elected a life member of the society. The meeting elected Messrs. J. Schiaepfer (Helvetia), F. Ballard (Runciman), and E. Allan (Buckland) life members, in recognition of their services to the society over a number of years. Mr. Clark reported that the calf club movement was making excellent progress in Franklin. The meeting recommended the executive to ask the judge in the calf club section at the society's next annual show to demonstrate his placings.
