BAY OF PLENTY PROPOSAL THE VISIT OF CAPTAIN COOK [by telegraph —owx correspondent] TAURANGA, Saturday A letter lias been received by Mr. C. H. Burnett, M.P., from Mr. James Thorn, M.P., chairman of the committee dealing with the national historical survey, acknowledging receipt of a letter in which Mr. Burnett offered to assist the committee in the preparation of a film depicting the visit of Captain Cook to the Bay of Plenty. "I note your suggestion that members of the National Historical Committee should visit certain places of historic interest around Tauranga," said Mr. Thorn. "I shall place these matters before the committee at a meeting to be held very shortly, and shall advise you later of the details of any arrangements that are made in connection with the preparation of centennial films. I thank you for your interest in the work that is being planned."
