FRUIT SHOP HOURS
NEW CLOSING TIME EFFECT IN WAIKATO Amended hours for the closing of fruit shops in the boroughs of Hamilton and Morrinsville will come into force on September 13, according to a notice in the current Gazette. This announcement follows the presentation of requisitions to the acting-Minister of Labour, the Hon. P. C. Webb, on behalf of a majority of the occupiers of fruit shops in both of these centres. The Minister now directs that the closing time on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays will be 6 p.m. and on Fridays and Saturdays 9.30 p.m., with exceptions in the case of days preceding certain general holidays when thero will be no fixed closing hour. A further notice prohibts the sale of fresh and preserved fruit and vegetables in a,ay other shops in these boroughs during the hours in which the fruit shops are closed. This order also comes into force on September 13.
