FATHER OF 11 FINED £25 [BY TKLKCII.VI'II —I'ItKSS ASSOCIATION] ASHBURTON, Snturday A fine of £25 was imposed on John Prendergast, of Eiffolton, when lie was charged with making a false statement under tho Employment Promotion Act, whereby ho obtained £lB Ss 6d moro than he was entitled to. It wns stated that he was tho father of 11 children, and was prepared to pay 2s Gd a week. Ho was ordered to pay back 10s a week.
