ANOTHER TRIAL FLIGHT CAMBRIA LEAVES IRELAND (Received August 27, 9.5 p.m.) LONDON, August 27 The British flying-boat Cambria left Foynes, Ireland, for Botwood, Newfoundland, at 5.39 this morning on another survey flight. REGULAR SERYICE NOT LIKELY BEFORE 1939 BRITISH OFFICIAL'S OPINION (Received August 27, 7.5 p.m.) QUEBEC August 27 Interviewed on his arrival from England to-day, Sir Thomas Gardiner, deputy Director-General of the British Post Office, said a regular air mail service between England and Canada was not likely before 1939. The testflights so far had been most successful, but much exploration work remained to be done.
ROUTE VIA AZORES AMERICAN CLIPPER ARRIVAL AT SOUTHAMPTON British Wireless RUGBY, August 26 The Pan-American Airways flyingboat Clipper 111., which has been on a survey flight from New York, vift tho Azores, arrived at Southampton from Marseilles this afternoon. The Clipper will remain at Southampton for several days before returning to New York by the same route.
