CAR LEAVES ROAD
POWER-POLE STRUCK DRIVER SENT TO HOSPITAL Concussion and abrasions wero suffered by tho driver of a new small car which left tho road about three-quarters of a-milo south of Papakura on the main Papakura-Pukekoho highway and collided with a power-polo at about 11 o'clock yesterday morning. The driver, Mr. William John Taylor, aged 25, single, of 35 Seddon Street, Pukekolie, was taken to the Auckland Hospital in a St. John ambulance after receiving attention from Dr. G. W. Lock, of Papakura. His condition last night was not serious. Employed as a garago attendant by Messrs. Howo and Weston, Limited, of Pukekohe, Mr. Taylor was driving a new demonstration model from Auckland. The car left tho road just outside tho boundary of the township at Papakura, and went over a six-foot bank. It struck tho power-pole which was forced out of alignment, fairly extensive damage being dono to tho car. 1 The vehicle was removed by a wrecking truck.
