WAIHI, Friday The following information has been cabled to the London office of tho Martha Gold Mining Company (Waihi) Limited:— No. 4 level. —In a crosscut to the north-west at 158 ft. south-west of No. 2 shaft, tho last section of Edward lode was intersected at 23ft. in. The width is about lift.,' assaying 41s a ton. No. 6 level, north branch Martha lode.—Driving west is suspended, and. a winze is now being sunk at 490 ft.. west. The first 45ft. assays 22s 6d a ton, the width varying from i one to two feet. North branch of Martha lode, west of Espir crosscut. —The next 53ft. assays 6s 3d a ton. The reef has split UPYIELDS OF COMPANIES , Talisman Dubbo (Karangahake) 51 tons of ore were ~ treated at tho Golden Dawn battery for an approximate realisation of £296. Mount Kasi (Fiji).—Four weeks ended August 13, a total of 2972 tons was crushed. Bullion produced contained 5540z. of fine gold, estimated " ( at £IS47 in Australian currency.
REPORTS OF MANAGERS Golden Dawn (Owharoa). Fortnight ended August'2l: No. 3 level—Crosscut west off No. 2 reef driven lift, total i)7ft. At a reef 12in wide was cut, value. £1 •Is 7d a ton This is a fine reef and on the south side of. crosscut ths value is 33s a ton. Tho country rock here is still of a splendid class for carrying reefs, being interlaced with quartz stringers and mineral veins. Drive north on reef cut 72ft in crosscut driven Bft. Reef averages Bin wide, value 6s Gd a ton. No work has been done in driving north and south on No. 4 reef. Men' employed carrying along a leading stopo. Reef in both faces still-looks well and is stili good ore. A start will be made' again driving in a few days. Leading stope on No. 4 reef north and south, carried along for 40ft, and the main timbers put in for stoping. Reef averages 14in wide, value £ll 15s l)d a ton. Stopes on No 2 reef north. Reef averages 17in, value £4 la Ud a ton. Stopes on reef going into westwall off No. i reef averages 20in wide, value 14s 4d a ton. Bottom intermediate levelStones on westwall branch reef north and south. Reef averages lain, value £7 Is lid a ton. Under hand stopes on' No. 1 reef south Reef averages 22in wide, value £6 is r,d a ton. Stopes on reef formation off Westwall branch. Reef averages 14in wido, value £4 2s lOd a ton. (
