SOUTH AUCKLAND TITLE WIN FOR MISS FLEMING [from our own correspondent! HAMILTON, Friday The final matches in the South Auckland ladies' . golf' tournament were played to-day in perfect conditions. Miss V. Fleming, of Christchurch, defeated Miss J. Duncan, of Wanganui, 3 and 2, to tako tho South Auckland title, and In the St. Andrews Cup final Miss J. Masters, of Hamilton, beat Miss V. Campbell, of Timaru, 1 up. . . A large gallery followed the championship finalists. Miss Fleming drovo well throughout and hit all her shots cleanly, but Miss Duncan was not quite, as steady and her approaching was sometimes at fault. Miss Fleming appoarcd an easy winner, when she was dormy five, but a lapse m putting lost her the next two holes. At the 16th she recovered and holed _a lone putt to halve the hole in four and win tho motcn. Tho St. Andrews Cup, final was an oven stmpTKlo throughout, but the standard of goil was below tho players' best. Miss Masters was *> up at the ICth and) after losing the 17th she halved the •18th to win 1 up. . . Putting competitions . held during the tourney were won as follows:-—First day, Mrs. F.
