DIVORCE DECREES

UNDEFENDED CASES SEVERAL PETITIONS GRANTED Several undefended divorce petitions were granted by Mr. Justico Fair in the Supremo Court yesterday. Evidence that with two private detectives she had watched her husband's house and entered it in Parnell last March was given by Thelma Winifred Turner (Mr. Dickson), in support of her petition for divorce from Bernard Walter Turner. The ground of the petition was adultery.. The petitioner said they were married in March, 1930, and separated in October, 1934. His Honor issued a decree nisi. Constructive desertion haying been shown against Bernard Aloysins Herkt, a decree nisi was granted to the petitioner, Edith Matilda Herkt (Mr. Matthews). < On the ground of separation, either by order or by mutual arrangement, for more than three years decrees nisi were granted to the following:—Elmer Mary Morgan (Mr. Noble) against Richard John Morgan; Ida Catheriue Hamblyn (Mr. Noble) against Leslie Percival Hamblyn; Lionel Francis Faram (Mr. L. J. Stevens)' against Thelma Catherine Faram.

ORDERS TO RETURN A SEAMAN'S APPLICATION Three petitions for restitution of conjugal rights were granted by Mr. Justice Fair in the Supremo Court yesterday. A seaman in the New Zealand Navy, Philip Woodward (Mr. A. Hall Skelton) sought an order for the restitution of conjugal rights against Ena Merle Woodward. The petitioner said lie was sent to Aden with the Diomede in October. 1935, and his wife went to her people in Nelson. He returned to the Dominion in September, 1938, but she refused to return to him although ho had a homo for her. His Honor made an order directing the respondent to return to petitioner within 28 days. Richard Albert Dalley was ordered to return to Lois Dorothy Dalley- (Mr. I-Ioro)' within 14 dnyis. Tho period of return was fixed at 28 days in tho case of Grace, Anne Pearco (Mr. A. Hall Skelton) against Charles Alexander i'earce^
