WINTER SHOW

LARGE ATTENDANCES MANY SCHOOLCHILDREN FINAL PROGRAMME TO-DAY Glorious weather brought large crowds to tho Auckland Winter Exhibition yesterday and, as usual, a large proportion of those present were schoolchildren, many of whom patronised tho free motion picture programmes screened from time to time during tho day. Tho side-shows also were well attended by tho children, while tho numerous trade exhibits attracted tho interest of their elders. An entertainment was given at tho show last evening by pupils of Miss P. Marmont, while the Auckland Highland Pipe Band attracted considerable attention on its march from the Town Hall to the exhibition. Considerable amusement was created at the show yesterday by a number of full-length distorting mirrors which have been installed by the management. In some of these oven the tallest peoplo appear exceedingly dwarfed, while in others mere children seem to be of immense proportions. The remarkable changes in facial expressions wrought by tho mirrors also were the source of a groat deal of laughter.

The exhibition closes to-night, and it is anticipated that extremely largo crowds will attend. Among the attractions will be the usual picture programmes, an entertainment by pupils of Miss A. Beresford, and model aeroplane flying competitions. In the evening there will be a concert arranged by tho Highland and National Dancing Society, and the Mount Eden Boys' Band will provide a musical programme.
