DUNEDIN FILM ACTOR
VISIT TO HOME PLANNED MAKING PICTURE IN MALAYA [by telegraph—own coerespoxdent] DUNEDIN, Friday After an absence of four years Mr. Colin Tapley, formerly of Dunedin, who has had much success as a film actor at Hollywood, is expected to return on a short visit in October, after he has completed a picture in Malaya. He will return to Hollywood later. Since he left for the United States, Mr. Tapley has appeared in numerous minor roles and lias now reached the stage where he is billed high in'casta. His first starring Vehicle will be "Booloo," which is to be filmed in the Malayan jungle. He is to be the only white man in .the production, and trill play the role of a white trader buying skins and animals.
Mr. Tapley's party, including the director and camera squad, left Hollywood several weeks ago by steamer for Japan, whence they were to fly to Malaya. Apparently Mr. Tapley and his companions passed through Japan just before the outbreak of hostilities, although no news has been received by his Dunedin relatives since he left Honolulu.
