Y.W.C.A. SECRETARY

IN SAFETY IN CHINA A cable has been received in Wellington from Miss Tsai Twei, National Secretary of the Y.W.C.A. of China, announcing the safety of Miss A. M. Moncrieff, of New Zealand, who represents the New Zealand Y.W.C.A. on the staff of the national organisation in China, states the Dominion. Miss Moncrieff is very well known in New Zealand, being a graduate of Victoria University College, and having held the office of travelling secretary to the New Zealand Student Christian Movement. She also has been on tho teaching staff of several New Zealand schools. Miss Moncrieff was planning to take her vacation in August, and it is thought she may havo been absent from Shanghai when the hostilities began.
