NINETIETH BIRTHDAY
MRS. MARGARET HONAN The 90tli birthday of Mrs. Margaret L. Honan, who lives at Northcote with her daughter, Miss T. A. Honan, occurs to-day. Mrs. Honan was the third daughter of Mr. Dillon Smith, and was boru in Tasmania. The family came to New Zealand, and she went to a convent boarding school at Wellington. She was married at Napier to Mr. Timothy Kerry Honan, who was teaching at Meanee College, and who later became headmaster of the State schools at Avondale and Greyrnonth. Returning to Auckland, Mr. Honan was headmaster of the Onehunga Roman Catholic Boys' School for 30 years, until his death in 1912. During their residence at Grevmouth, Mrs. Honan was the organist at the Roman Catholic Church. Her son is Mr. Fred Honan, of Northcote, and there are eight daughters, seven of whom are married and living in New Zealand. There are 35 grandchildren and six great-grand-children.
