AUCKLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS F. PATONS SPLENDID DISPLAY l _ Tlio Auckland provincial tabic tennis ! championships wore continued last evening, exciting play being witnessed in many of the contests. The outstanding match was that between F. Pa ton, former Auckland champion, who defeated K. Cantlay, tho present New Zealand title-holder, in a close and interesting contest. Pnton's steadiness and allround science enabled him to keep Cantlay on tho defensive. Detailed results are as follows: Men's Singles.—Semi-finals: Paton beat Cantlay, Swift beat Stowell. Munns and Miss Manson, 21—1.7, 21 —18; Stowell and Miss Tan field beat Cantlay and Miss Bond, 21—18, .17—21, 21—10.
