CALEDONIAN SOCIETY
PROGRESS AT OTAHUHU OFFICERS FOR ENSUING YEAR A successful year, both from tho financial and spcial aspects, was reported at tho annual general meeting of tho Otahuhu and District Caledonian Society. There was a good attendance of former and new members.
The membership had been well maintained, stated the report, and the popularity of the inglcsides held monthly had been evidenced by the large attendances of members and friends. During the year a ladies' auxiliary had been established and was functioning with success. Outstanding functions held during the year were the annual dinner to commemorate the birthday of the Scottish poet, Robert Burns, and the Caledonian ball held for the first occasion since the formation of the society. The report recorded appreciation of the services rendered by Mr. and Mrs. J. Mclvor and the members of the various ladies' committees. The financial roport showed a substantial credit balance. The reports wero adopted. Officers were elected as follows:—• Patron, Mr. C. ft. Petrie, M.P.; chief, Mr. J. M. Deas: choiftains, Messrs. It. .A. Archibald, A. W. Stewart, C. D. Thomson; auditor, Mr. G. B. Bennett; pipe-major, Mr. R. A. Archibald: committee. Mesdames J. Greenall. J. Mclvor, H. Weir. Messrs. J. McTvor, M. Handling. G. 0. Anstiss, E. McLachlan, W. Hamilton and 11. Stephen.
