FRUIT FOR ALL
Sir, —I venture to say that were the price of fruit not beyond the purchasing power of the average householder, Now Zealandcrs could consume every orange, pear, apple or whatever it may he that was available. One has only to take a plato of oranges or apples to a school team of footballers or basketball players to see how keen is the- natural appetite for fruit. Despite all that science is trying to do to-day in the way of preventing disease, those in authority allow such dreadful wastage of fruit as was evidenced last week when, on account of their high price. 1000 cases of oranges became unfit for sale. Such an occurrence surely passes understanding in the face of the present knowledge on nutrition. Teacher's Wifb,
