BADMINTON
WISDEN CUP CHALLENGE The Wisden Cup, tho symbol of provincial supremacy in badminton, has been held by Auckland for several years. Owing to the difficulty of finding suitable halls in which to play matches, tlierc has not been a great number of challenges received for it. However. the Waikato Association has issued a challenge and the match will be played in the Bledisloe Hall, at Hamilton, next Saturday. The teams aro as follows: Auckland.—Men: Wilson. Anderson. Hull, Shale. Ladies: Misses Ramsay, Wade, Mesdatlies Wren, Collcdge. Waikato.—Men: Fow, Dempster, Lewis, Johnstone. Ladies: Misses Edmondson, Yendall, Dempster, Clougli. Tho following Auckland B team 'will also make the trip:—Men: Boys, Whale, I'ardy, Scott. Ladies: Misses Inwood, Sticlibury, Crouch, Hansen.

The Tauranpra Badminton Club visited tlio Te Puke .Club last evening, tlie match resulting in a win for the Tnuranga Club by five games to three. The results were, Taurnnga names being mentioned first:—Miss Anderson and Miss A. Trundle lost to Miss P. Hemphill and Miss Gummer. 14— M. 2—Miss Sharon and Miss Leach beat Miss Mexted and Miss Pal Hemphill. 15 —12; Gammon and Broward beat Gray and AVilsnn, 21 —l7; Anderson and Foster beat B. Hemphill and Sliarwood, 21 —10; Miss Anderson and Gammon lost to Miss P. Hemphill and Gray. 11—21; Miss A. Trundle and Anderson lost to Miss Gummer and Wilson, 20—20, 1 — Miss Sharon and Breward beat Miss Mexted anil B. Hemphill, 21 —21; Miss Parkinson and Foster heat Miss Pat Hemphill and Hicben, 21 —12. v
