INCREASED RECEIPTS
RAILWAYS !N BRITAIN £3,545,000 FOR HALF YEAR (Received July 0, 0.5 p.m.) British Wireless RUGBY, July 8 The traffic receipts for the first half year on the main lines of the British railways show a gain of £3,545,000, as compared with the first 26 weeks of 1936. The returns for that period in turn were £1,819,000 more than those of tho first half or 1935. To tho total advance of £3,545,000, passengers contributed £1,426,000, merchandise £904,500 and coal and coke, £1,214,500.
