GARDEN LOVERS
WAITEMATA SOCIETY An address on "Roses" was given on Wednesday night by Mr. Frank Penn to the members of the Waitemata Horticultural Society at Northcote. The president, Mr. -T. L. Hanna,/ presided. A number of prizes were donated for the spring show, to be held in September. The awards of the judges, Messrs. D. P. O'Leary, and A. E. Harding, in the members' monthly competition were: —Miss J. Geddes, 10 points; Mesdaines E. A. Campbell, A. E. Harding, Mr. and Mrs. H. N. Leefc, nine points each; Mesdaines A. -R. Shutes, A. Oldbury, J. C'rombie, F. Taylor, J. Prickett, Misses Shutes and R. Wilson, eight points each; Mesdamcs J. Barrott, Frith, K. R. Taylor, Miss Collins, seven points each; Mesdames A. E. H. Harrison, Satchell, D. P O'Leary, and R. F. Featherstone, six points each. The special prize for the most artistically arranged dining table, decorated with autumn foliage and berries, was awarded to Mrs J. Prickett.
