SUSTENANCE FRAUDS
TWELVE OFFENDERS FINED PENALTIES RANGE UP TO £35 Another batch of offenders was charged in the Polico Court yesterday wjth making false statements of thoir earnings in order to obtain benefits under the Employment Promotion Act. All pleaded guilty, and fines were imposed to cover tho amounts dishonestly obtained. Mr. 0. 11. Orr Walker, S.M., presided, and Mr. W. A. Black prosecuted on bohalf of the Labour Department. Tlio following were fined, costs amounting to 10s being entered in each caso: —Michael John Hogan, £35; Andrew McKinloy, £'.' so; Peter Jack Patuki, £ls; Michael ' Mullally and Samuel Nui, £lO each; John Wilfred, ifolt, £6; Stanley Gordon Atkinson, Reginald Ernest Andrewartha, William Marshall Forbes, liobcrb Arnott Harrington, and Ernest Joseph Jlogcrs, £5 each; and Leslie John Munce, £2 10s.
