"WINTERTIME"

COLOURFUL PANTOMIME Arranged by Madame Yalcska for her pupils, a pantomime and revuo entitled "Wintertime" was presented in the Town Hall concert chamber last night before a large attendance. From a Bohemian story translated, from the French, "Wintertime" tells the story of two girls, Claire and Betty, their wicked step-motlier- and Laurie, their step-sister. The pantomime was produced in nine scenes, in each ol which new and striking' costumes were seen. The second part of the programme was "Hod Feather," a story of cowboys and Indians, which was notable for the appearance of Mr. Len Wilson and his troupe of acrobats. Five in number, the group gave a popular demonstration of ieats of strength and balancing. Songs were presented by a number of artists, while many delightful dances wore well received, a tap dance to modern swing-time music being a feature. A large number of cowboys, cowgirls and Indians appeared 011 the stage in costume and the five scenes wore all strikingly arranged. Throughout the programme many spectacular and colourful dances, both ballet and solo, were exocuted in accomplished manner, the numbers presented by the smaller children being particularly commendable. "Wintertime" and "Red Feather" are to bo presented in tho concert chamber again to-night.
