NINETY-SIX YEARS OLD
RESIDENT OF HAMILTON [from our own cob,respondent] HAMILTON", Friday Mr. Thomas Took, Hamilton's oldest resident, will celebrate his 96th birthday to-morrow. He landed at Auckland from England in 1876 with his wife and child, and took up a position as stockman on the Gordon Estate, near Cambridge, then about 17.000 acres in extent. He worked in various towns in the Waikato and Thames valleys until about 14 years ago, when ho came to live in Hamilton. Mr. Took's father lived to the age of 95 and his grandfather to over 90.
