SENIOR COMPETITION I MATCHES AT CARLAW PARK MANUKAU TO PLAY MARIST The second scries' of matches in tlio second round of tho senior championship of the Auckland R-ugbv Lcarho will he decided at Carl aw Park to-mor-row, the principal attraction being between Manukau and ..Marist. An open and exciting contest should result as both teams have shown improvement in recent matches. Maiuikau played line football in defeating North Shortf last Saturday and a repetition of this lorni will probably carry it to victory against Marist. Tho latter, however, has a good set of forwards and tho backs will only need to combine well to prove dangerous. If tho Manukau rearguard receives a fair share of tho ball lrom tho scrums it should provide some thrilling play. Tho curtain-raiser will he contested by City and Mount Albert. Both teams, have been erratic, in recent names, but the latter should take the honours. The City forwards are likely to test tho opposition fully. Richmond, tho leading team, and North Shore Svill provide the chief game on tho No. 2 ground and an interesting contest should result. As ground conditions are likely to bo heavy North Shore may do better than generally anticipated. Ponsoitfiy should provo too strong for Newton in the curtain-raiser. Lower grade competitions will bo continued to-morrow. /
