Sir, —L suggest that ilie word Now should not bo used in cither New Zealian or New Zealand, as it is now a misnomer. As the centennial is near, tliis old country should be called Zealand with the adjective Zealian. J.A.J. Sir. —Why all this perplexity by different correspondents in desiriug alteration of the less ambiguous name "New Zealand," which will only increase the difficulty of the exportation of products? These hasty, ill-considered names, if adopted, will load to confusion. Surely plain, honest and simple New Zealand will suffice. The term "Australasian Colonics" so commonly used within recent times, with all its erroneous implications, led to many complications in other countries. Percy Ward. Sir, —Wlylc the question of a, new term for New Zealanders is being discussed my memory goes back to childhood, when all my father's Home letters came addressed "Zealandia." Whether this was my father's fancy or that of his people, or whether the name was general, 1 do not know, hut I love it. Beautiful and poetical it seems to me, not too far from the original, let far enough to remove it from Dutch traditions. It is stately and individual, as suits our unique and much-loved land.
