CANON APPOINTED
VICAR OF ST. Al DAN'S THE REV. R. L. CONNOLLY The vicar of St. Aidan's, Remuera, the Rev. R. L. Connolly, has been appointed a canou of St. Mary's Cathedral. He has held his present position since 1930, when ho succeeded tho Rev. H. A. Coleman. Tho new canon is a son of the late Rev. W. E. S. .Connolly, of Epsom, and was, born in Ireland. He received his ecclesiastical training at St. John's College, Tamaki, and was ordained in 1909 by.Dr. M. R. Neligan, then Bishop of Auckland. In 1910 he was appointed assistant priest at St. Peter's Church (now Cathedral), Hamilton, and was later curate at Kaitaia, vicar of Waihi and vicar of Te Aroha. He remained for 11 years at Te Aroha, where he took a prominent part in the social life of tho town, before being appointed to tho charge of St., Aidan's parish.
