STORMWATER FLOODING
PROBLEM IN HAMILTON SOLUTION WOULD COST £3230 [by TELEGRAPH —OWN correspondent] HAMILTON, Wednesday A report on stormwater flooding problems in Hamilton was submitted at last night's meeting of the Hamilton Borough Council by the engineer, Mr. R. Worlcy. The cost of attending to all the streets concerned was set down at approximately £3230, of which £570 had been provided for in this year's estimates.
By far the biggest problem is that of the Ward Street drain, which at present is carrying much more than it was designed for. The report states that a new 27in. pipe-line would be necessary to overcome the trouble and would cost about £IOSO.
