Bright sunshine streamed through the vide-open doors of the Auckland Hospital Auxiliary's new canteen for outpatients' yesterday morning, when it * was officially opened by the Mayoress, Lady Davis, in the presence of a large * number of auxiliary workers and others * who had assisted in its planning. The i* canteen, originally a garage, which has » been cleverly converted t<> its present use is situated in a convenient posi|j 011 t(T one side of the main driveway, * opposite the Wallace Wards, and with •; it s gaily coloured matting, neat green i chairs and gleaming buffet is a cheer- ? ful addition to the hospital facilities. Those present were welcomed by Mrs. %'k Campbell, who remarked that since the inception of the Hospital « Auxiliary, the canteen had been one < 0 f its dreams.
