SCHMELING REFUSES CONTEST

(Received July 7, 5.5 p.m.) . NEW YORK. July 6

The boxing promoter Mr. Jacobs announces that a heavy-weight contest between the American negro Joe Louis and Tommy Farr (Britain) will take place at New York in the week following September 13.
