TRAMWAY MISHAPS
COLLISIONS WITH TRUCKS LITTLE DAMAGE DONE Two collisions between tramcars and motor-lorries happened within a quarter of an hour in different parts of the city yesterday afternoon, but in neither instance was anyone hurt or the vehicles badly damaged. The first mishap was at the corner of Osborne Street and Khyber Pass Koad at 4.1-5. when an outward-bound tram struck the side of a lorry. The apron of the tram was dented and the impact broke one of the glass panels, but the lorry was only slightly damaged in the front. The second collision happened in Upper Queen Street, just above the Town Hall, when an inward-bound tram collided with the rear of a truck. The tram was not damaged, but the woodwork at the rear of the truck was splintered. Three or four trams were held up temporarily, but normal running was quickly restored.
