SENIOR GRADE DRAW
REFERENCE TO THE CLUBS SCHOOLBOYS AT OTAHUHU The draw for. matches in the senior grade competition was discussed at last evening's meeting of the Auckland Rugby League. It was decided that match arrangements for the next three series should he referred to the clubs for subsequent confirmation.
The chairman, Mr. Grey Campbell, said that a heavy programme was ahead and until the fixtures with the Australian team and matches controlled by the New Zealand Rugby League were finalised no decision was possible. In reference to a complaint against the action of a schoolmaster at Otahuhu in restricting the activities of boys playing League football, the Otahuhu School Committee replied that it had no jurisdiction over the actions of the headmaster in any private capacity. It was decided after discussion to take the matter up with the Education Department. Mr. Campbell reported that he had attended the opening of the new ground at Huntly. He said the area was one of the heist football grounds in the Auckland Province. The following transfers were approved:— G. Hamilton, Newton to Marist; L. C'ootes, Wellington to Ponsonby. S. Auckland, suggestii g that arrangements should he made for that club to visit New South Wales. Mr. Miller reported that the application could not be entertained as a Rugby League venture, but might be considered by district secretaries as a club fixture.
