PARENT EDUCATION
ADDRESSES IN AUCKLAND An effort is to bo made at the coming New Education Fellowship Conference in Auckland to interest tho general public in what is known as "parent education." This does not mean the re-education of parents to help their children with home lessons. Tho aim is to bring them into contact with modern educational theory and practice and help them to co-operate in the home with the efforts of the teacher in school. The parent education movement has made great progress in tho United States for over a decade, but has scarcely gained a footing in New Zealand.
In the conference provision has been made for a symposium on Monday afternoon in the Technical College Hall, to which the public will be admitted. Addresses are to be given by Dr. E. S. do Bruuner, of Columbia University, Mrs. F. W. Hart, a leader of the American movement, and Mrs. W. Boyd, of Glasgow.
