UNIVERSITY CONTEST EDEN PARK GAME TO-MORROW MASSEY TO MEET AUCKLAND A fast and open exhibition of exciting University Rugby football should take place at Eden Park to-morrow afternoon, when Massey Agricultural College will meet Auckland University in the first of a new series of interuniversity contests.

Massey College is one of the outstanding sides :n the Manawatu Rugby Union's senior championship, and is at present only one point behind the leader. Its open and attracfive stylo has made it the most popular combination for several seasons in the Manawatu district.

The, team has given strong proof of its ability this seison by decisively defeating Wellington 'University and by overwhelming Lincoln Agricultural College, Canterbury, by 38 points to 0. Massey College includes a number of seasoned representative players. Blytb, Irving, Sutton. Terry, Francis and Campbell gained places in tho Manawatu fifteen this season. Francis played in the 1!).'55 All Black trials, and is a fine back, while Terry was a member of the Auckland University pack last. year. Irving and Sutton were included in the New Zealand University side selected after the North-South Island University match at Dunedin. The Auckland University fifteen has improved considerably in recent club matches, in which it has given attractive displays. The team includes five New Zealand University representatives and two Auckland B players. SECONDARY SCHOOLS' MATCH

WIN FOR SACRED HEART COLLEGE

Matches in the senior division of the Auckland Rugby Union's secondary schools' championship, postponed last Saturday on account of the adverse weather conditions, will be played during this week. The first of these framed took place yesterday, when Sacred Heart College defeated King's College at Sacred Heart College by 20 points to nil. The winning team was superior in all departments, and only faulty handling by the inside backs in the first spoil prevented the score from being higher. The Sacred Heart forwards had command of the first spell, but the only score- was a try by Cooney, who dived over from a scramble near the line. After the interval the Sacred Heart backs quickly assumed tha ascendancy. A pretty passing rush resulted in Cooney scoring his second try, while Fox touched down unopposed after securing fiom a cross-kick by a King's College back. From a clever blind-side movement B'anchard passed to Tehira, who registered the third try of the game. King's College was well beaten at this stape, and further bright passing rushes among the Sacred Heart backs saw Faire and Cooney add tries, one of which was converted by Petersen. Air. COUNTRY CONTESTS OPOTIKI DEFEATS APANUI [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] OPOTIKI. Monday The first representative match of the season was played at Opotiki on Saturday in fine but windy weather before a good crowd. The game was fast and open throughout and the result was in doubt right up to the final whistle. By defeating Apanui representatives by -8 points to 7 Opotiki will play in the second round for the Parata Cup. For Opotiki I. Walker scored two tries, one of which was converted by Cuff. Jack Koopu scored Apanui's points with an unconverted try and a good field goal. In the junior game. Probables beat Possibles by 8 to 3. The junior representatives will meet Rangitaiki, challengers, in the first challenge match for the Shalfoon Shield on Saturday nest.
