HOCKEY TEAM'S TOUR
PLAYERS FOR AUSTRALIA FIVE AUCKLANDERS CHOSEN [I)V TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION'] "WELLINGTON, Sunday After the final series of trials nt Karori Park yesterday afternoon the Now Zealand selectors, Messrs. W. Xcwshum (Auckland), E. G. McLeod (Wellington), and C. C. Holland (Christchurch), announced that the following 1G players would constitute the Xew Zealand hockey team to tour Australia this season:—
Goalkeeper, W. Smillio (Waikato); fullbacks, F. S. Clark (Auckland), D. Pountney (Waikato), A. Malioney (Hawke's Bay), D. S. Wilson (Wellington); lialves, L. Watson, S. Robertson (Auckland), D. Loader, T. Burtt (Canterbury); forwards, R. Houghton, G. Monteith (Auckland), IL Brown, M. Browne (Wellington), L. A. Best (Nelson), B. D. Duflield (Canterbury), 0. B. Dey (Otago). The average age of the players is 24J years. With the manager, Mr. 11. Gracie, the team will sail from Wellington- about July 9. The team will have one clear day after arrival in Australia and will play five matches in each of the first two weeks, and thereafter tlnee matches a week.
