CRASH FROM BRIDGE
TRUCK DRIVER'S ORDEAL UNCONSCIOUS WHEN FOUND [FROM OUR OWN CORKESBONDKNT~I WHANGAREI, Sunday A remarkable escape from serious injury was experienced by Mr. George Michewiski, aged 22, at an early hour yesterday morning, when the motortruck he was driving crashed through the rails of a bridge at Ripiwai, about 30 miles from Whnngarei. The vehicle was almost wrecked. Mr. Michewiski was thrown on to the bank of the stream, where he lay unconscious until found by another motorist about two hours later. He recovered consciousness shortly afterwards, and was brought to the Whangarei District Hospital, where it was found that he was suffering from severe bruises and shock. His condition is not serious.
