AIMS OF CORPORATION • DIRECTOR TO INVESTIGATE VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND (Received May 9, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, May 8 The director of the British Broadcasting Corporation's Empire service, Mr. J. B. Clark, left London yesterday for a seven months' Empire tour. The principal object of the tour is to discover the extent to which the Empire broadcasting service' is fulfilling its purpose.

" We are anxious to gain first-hand knowledge of the conditions under which overseas listeners receive our programmes, what they think of them and what improvements they would like to be made," said Mr. Clark. He proposes to spend a considerable time in Australia and New Zealand.
