FANCY DRESS DANCE
CORONATION FUNCTION Flags, multi-coloured streamers and balloons were used to decorate the St. George's Hall, Hamilton, on the occasion of a successful fancy dress dance and card evening organised by the Birmingham and English Counties' Association. Interspersed with dancing a programme of items was presented. The artists were: —Miss E. Bull, Miss L. Bridges, Mrs. Trembath, Mr. Sinclair and Mr. Kilburn. Mr. i. Waters was in charge of the floor arrangements. In a brief speech, Mr. F. Waters spoke of the work done by the secretary, Mrs. D. I. Gate, and as a mark of appreciation presented her with a handbag on behalf of the members. The president, Mr. J. T. Reid, presented the prizes for the card tournament as follows: —Mrs. Halberg 1, Mrs. C. Crabb 2, Mrs. Flyger 3. The first prize for tho best fancy dress was won by Mrs. J. Stewart as "Britannia." Mrs. Fensom was second, as a scarecrow.
