BLOMFIELD AND SPELLMAN Another excellent attraction will be staged at tho Town Hall this evening by tho Auckland Wrestling Association, when tho New Zealand champion, " Lofty" Blomfield, will meet a recent arrival from America, John Spellman. Tho latter, beforo turning professional, had a very successful career as an amateur. Ho won the heavy-weight title at 1 lie Olympic Games at Paris in 1924. In tho oight seasons in which ho has l§een wrestling as a professional. Spollman has had a. varied and successful career. Ho has dofeated " Man Mountain" Dean, Dan Koloff, Ali Baba (twice), Dick Shikat; drawn with tho late Jim Browning, and lost by singlo falls to Dan O'Mahonoy, Ed Don George and Jim Londos when tho latter threo hold the world's title. Spellman is very anxious to mako a good impression in the Dominion and he is confident that his stylo will appeal to followers of tho sport. Blomfield is reported to bo in fine condition and ho should bo capable of a sound performance against his strong and versatile opponent.
