SOMERVILLE SUPERIOR
FAILURE OF MOUNT EDEN Neither Somerville nor Mount Eden played good, scientific hockey in the game, which Somerville won by 7 goals to 3. Consequently the match was uninteresting from every point of view. Mount Eden, however, continued to show the improvement it displayed against Grammar Old Boys, compared with last season. In the first half play was fairly even, although Somerville led by 4 goals to 2at half-time. ... .. , .. In the second half Somerville added three more goals to Mount Eden's one. tor Somerville Stewart and Smith were sound as fullbacks, while the halves. Long, Hedges and Burt, worked hard. In the forwards, \\ elbourne,. Cooper and Wyatt combined well, and Watts and Turner, two promoted juniors, showed promise. All the Mount Eden piayers infused plenty of dash, into their same, but were lacking in cohesion. For Somemlle Wyatt scored four goals, Cooper two, and Watts one, while Smith scored twice and Bushell once for Mount Eden. Messrs: H. McQuarrie and M. \ipond were the umpires.
