The King's horse Curraghmore, a five-year-old by Friar Marcus from Bayberrv, won the Earl of Chester s Welter " Handicap, six furlongs, at Chester to-day. As a two-year-old 111 1934 Curraghmore won the Bestwood Nursery 1 late, five furlongs, at Nottingham, while the next season he accounted for the Histon Two-year-old Handicap, seven furlongs, at Newmarket, Grandstand Handicap, one mile, at Ripon, and AUestree Handicap, one mile, at Derby, Last season his best efiort was a second in the Richmond Plate, one mile, at Kempton Park. ARCTIC STAR CHANGES HANDS BREEDING OF JED FOREST [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] CHRISTCHURCH. Friday Swordstick is an unlikely starter in the Glasnevin Handicap at the Amberlcy Racing Club's meeting to-morrow. Arctic Star, who raced previously in the colours of Mrs. Shicl, of Duncdin, will bo raced in future by Mr. A. Svme, owner of Royal Limond and Owlsgleam. As a result Owlsgleam and Arcticc Star will bo bracketed in the Seadown Handicap. Jed Forest, whoso gallop yesterday brought him into favour for the Novice Stakes at Aniberley, is a four-vear-old gelding by Pink Coat from Lady Peters, a St. Petersburg mare not named in the Stud Book. Ho is owned by Mr. J Stafford and is trained by hi. and A. Cutts. Jed Forest has only had one race, which was at the last Grand National Meeting.
