ACTOR TO RETIRE
HAS FINANCIAL SECURITY (Received May 0, 7.40 p.m.) HOLLYWOOD, May 6 The film actor Paul Muni, who is 42, has announced his retirement. He has financial security and says there is no object in working for mere money.
Paul Muni was born at Lemberg, Austria, but went with his parents to the United States and was educated at Chicago. He made his first appearance on the stage in 1908 at New York and became a member of the Jewish Art Theatre company. He remained on the Yiddish stage until 1926, when he began English-speaking parts and in 1929 plaved his first part in the films.
