EMPIRE SHIPPING
DISCUSSION AT CONFERENCE PARLIAMENTARY ASSOCIATION (Received May 6, 11.5 p.m.) # LONDON, May 6 The need for maintaining Empire shipping was one of the topics touched upon by Mr. E. L. Burgin, Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Trade, at a private session of the Empire Parliamentary Association conference. Mr. Burgin analysed the problems of keeping the trade routes open and the prevention of discrimination against Britain, and indicated ways in which other Empire countries could assist. Several Dominion representatives took part in the debate. Mr. W. >S. Morrison, Minister of Agriculture, outlined Britain's policy to protect her agriculture. Mr. W. J. Broadfoot (New Zealand) was among the speakers. ,
