BIRKDALE WOMEN
The ninth anniversary of the women's organisation at Birkdale, held in the public hall, was largely attended. The president, Mrs. R. H. Greville, welcomed the gathering, which included the Mayoress of Birkenhead, Mrs. K. J. Osborne, the Mayoress of Northcote, Mrs. R. Martin, the president of the Auckland Provincial Federation of Women's Institutes, Mrs. Stanley Phillips, representatives of the Birkenhead Women's Association, Northcote Progressive League, Birkenhead Plunket Committee and the Auckland Centre, Belmont, Brown's Bay. Glenfield, Albany and Silverdale Women's Institutes. A programme of musical and elocutionary items was enjoyed. Afternoon tea was served by the committee.
