HARBOUR LIGHTS GUILD
EVENING BRIDGE PARTY The first of the evening bridge parties organised by the Harbour Lights Guild, took place in the club rooms of the Flying Angel Mission last night. The guests were met by Mrs. E. W. J. Bowden and Miss Clark. The host-esses were Mrs. H. R. Bullimore, Mrs. M. Hayes and Miss Wicken. The winners were Mrs. E. Worrall, Miss Hattawav and Mr. R. A. Ringer. In the concert hall, which was well filled with seafarers, an "Ashore and Afloat" entertainment took place. Mr. W. M. Mitchell presided. An interesting programme of instrumental and vocal numbers and fancy dancing was enjoyed. The contributing artists were: —Miss Mavis Ward and her pupils, Miss Edna Moxom, Miss .Toy Davidson, Miss Margaret Haines, Miss Doris Sinclair, Mr. Frank Brighurst, Mr. Reg. Willisher, Mr. Alf. Price, Master Ken Ward, and the band from the Mataroa.
At an early service Archbishop Averill conducted a confirmation service in the Mariners' Chape a seaman, presented by the Chaplain, Rev. H. K. Vickery.
