NEW ROYAL BARGE
KING AND QUEEN ON THAMES CUSTOM TO BE REVIVED British Wireless RUGBY, April 2 A historic custom will be revived on -April 27, when the King and Queen will travel from Westminster to Greenwich by river. They will make the journey at a slow speed in an admiral's barge in the charge of the King's bargemast-er. . A new barge, '6sft. long, has been constructed specially for the King. The vessel is streamlined and is capable of a speed of 26 knots.
AUDIENCE GRANTED AUSTRALIAN MINISTER HIS MAJESTY RECALLS VISIT LONDON, March '24 The King granted an audience to-day to the Commonwealth Treasurer, Mr. R. G. Casey, who spent 20 minutes with His Majesty and found him in excellent health. t In a subsequent interview, Mr. Casey said: "His Majesty greatly reminded me of his father, both in appearance and manner. I almost imagined that I was in his father's presence. His Majesty, also like his father, is wonderfully well informed regarding Australia, and is up to date on everything that is happening in the Commonwealth. The King vividly remembered the places and people associated with his visit to Australia as Duke of York, and discussed many of his Australian friends."
