KING'S COLLEGE EVENTS TWO RECORDS ESTABLISHED BICKERDIKE SENIOR CHAMPION Excellent, conditions favoured the annual athletic sports of King's College on Saturday afternoon. The school championship was • won by J. L. Bickerdike, with 25 points, and the runnerit]) was Hargrave with 14 points. In addition to winning the premier honours, Bickerdike registered two outstanding performances, which wire admitted as school records. The headmaster, Mr. J. N. Peart, announced that, under the conditions attaching to the annual sports events, no performance was admitted as a record until the event had been contested for five years. Bickerdike's records were in the discus throw with a fino effort measuring: 912 ft 4M>in, and a shot putt (121b) of 39ft 3in. The best previously recorded distances were 80ft 9iu and 38ft sin. respectively Two bo.vs, Gibbons and Witcomhe, tied for honours in the junior cup, each scoring 17 points Gibbons was leading b.v two points with ono event, the SSOyds, to be contested. Witcomhe led strongly into the straight in this event and seemed likely to win and the honours when a strong challenge b.v Coleman succeeded and left Witcombe and Gibbons with second and third place respectively. In tho contests for boys under 14.% years, Sunderland was tho winner with IS points, Parkes being runner-up with 12.
