RELIGION IN SCHOOLS
Sir, —I am sorry to see such letters as appeared in the Hebald of March 31 criticising and opposing the religious education of children in schools, is not there a clause in the Education Act which, while it does not enjoin this duty on teachers, permits local ministers to teach the Bible for half an hour ono day in the week? I call to mind the Apostle Paul, asked by the deputy of the country to teach him the way, and, being opposed, fixed his eyes on his opposer and said, "0 full of all subtlety and mischief, thou child of the evil 'one, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?" Matamata. I. Y Cui.len.
